When I First Come on Board at Lenoir-Rhyne University

You and your supervisor share responsibility for your induction and orientation to employment at the University. You will be on the job but away from your work area for a total of about two hours in two or three sessions to accomplish this.

First you will meet with the Human Resources Director to ensure that all the paperwork relative to your employment is taken care of. You will receive your handbook and information on certain college policies and procedures, including payroll schedules.

Then you will meet with the Benefits Coordinator to learn more about employment at the college. During this session you will apply for benefits.

All new employees should have a safety briefing. You will meet with the Director of Security for this part of your orientation.

If you would like a tour of campus or introductions to University personnel, or if you need training regarding travel for the University (required of faculty and staff who drive their own or University vehicles on University business), these will be arranged separately. Similarly, if you are a cost center manager you will need to learn about budget procedures.
